Staff Assistant Jennifer Baxter was born in Washington, 
D.C., and raised in Bowie, Md. She graduated from the University of Maryland at College Park with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. Jennifer spent five-and-a-half years teaching in Washington, D.C. During those five years, she married Joe Baxter, Jr. They eventually moved to Baltimore, and Jennifer began teaching for the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Her son Joshua was born in February of that school year. After completing her teaching contract, she sought other work that would be more conducive to raising a family. The family was completed in September 2004 with the birth of their daughter, Rebecca.
Jennifer began working for the Delaware-Maryland Synod on January 4, 2000. Since then, she has fallen in love with the candidacy program. "I guess it is the teacher in me, but I love working with the seminarians," she says. Being one who enjoys challenges and learning new things, Jennifer takes great pleasure in administering the synod’s computer network. She also manages the master database, handles any billing issues and works closely with the synod treasurer.
